one year.

Where were you a year ago on this day?

Do you remember?

What were you doing?

Were you alone or with others?

What was the weather?

What were you wearing?

Where did you eat?

Do you remember?

(And “Only if it was the 21st night of September,” does not count as an answer!)

It is good to remember….

“3 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, 5 thankful for your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. 6 And I am sure that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. 7 It is right for me to feel thus about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. 8 For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. 9 And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may approve what is excellent, and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruits of righteousness which come through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”

Philippians 1:3-11

Today is a day I could tell you

all of those details

and more.

(A lucky penny I found this morning reminded me of that.)

But to sum it all up I would simply say,

“We were thirsty…

Just a tiny hint…

The penny reminded me I’d made a promise and today is the perfect day to make good!

May this video mark a Special Year behind you and may the glow of their love be a promissory sign of the splendid days to come, and may you remember them for a lifetime!

hugs n’ blessings to my favorite sister/video expert for walking me through the complexities of video-making!

AND

a hug n’ blessing for you, as well, if you could remember your ‘one year ago day’ too!!!

**the aprons were made from old dresses and costumes and pieces of such throughout my darling daughter’s childhood, stitched now together for others to have a small reminder of her in their possession.  It was a joy for me to reminisce over every one as they were deconstructed…her girl scout uniform, first party dress, favorite church dress, dorthy costume…and to watch them each find a new heart & home to be cherished in. Thank you to all who so tenderly chose one & shared such a special day with us.

  1. Thank you for sharing. I love the feeling of if only briefly sharing something of thoughts and feelings of your life journey. May the year ahead be one of unexpected God surprises and favour. I have made a note of your upcoming birthday. I do hope you will post to share the day. 5 perfect 10’s indeed. How my perfect 10’s are mounting up. Only in the Grace of God do we live. Blessings!

    1. Thank you Sweet Faye! I must admitt the cyber-journaling has been an unexpected blessing for me, which has helped make me more vulnerable to others again. After experiencing defamation from someone our family had given our hearts to and welcomed as one of our own I lost trust in welcoming others into our world. This was a miserable heart-space for me. Our family always enjoyed enfolding others into our lives, we looked for opportunities to ‘do what we could’ to show we loved their presence in our lives, and always there were hugs, smiles and blessings to be shared with all who wished to receive them. Journaling has always helped…but this cyber-space journaling which I began through my blog has reawakened my heart (sliver by sliver,) to becoming who I once was before the character attack. The joy has never been lost, just guarded, and I thank you for always having such kind words to share each time I risk showing more & more of myself (how God designed me to be.) I admitt it has not been easy…but I feel more and more natural again. I know my heart may still suffer through more pain but I can see so much more clearly that none of this has been by choice. I praise God for allowing it as it has made me stronger and far more grateful for the authentic love I am surrounded by, and I try to consol His heart for I know while God allows difficulty to occur in our lives He does not Will it to happen. Everything He wills is grounded in love…and when others negate this the best response I know how to offer (now) is to consol the Heart of Jesus for it hurts Him far more than it is hurting I.
I appreciate you joining me in my birthday countdown! I have always LOVED my birthday…a true excuse to be giddy-goofy all day, no explanations needed. I do believe the more 10’s you’ve acquired the greater the reason to celebrate the day of birth we’ve been given! “Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre.” Psalm 149:3 I welcome this next phase in my life and ask for your prayers of Courage as I prepare for a ‘leap of faith’ to follow my heart with a New Ambition I know God has been preparing me for. I look forward to unveiling this soon…but first The Wedding!!! Hugs my dear one!

  2. What a special post and an even more special video!! Mother you continue to bless my life with such joy and have made this past year of wedding preparation such an enjoyable and love filled process. I shall forever cherish the moments and memories of doing it all with you and continue to be grateful for the many gifts you’ve blessed me with. The shower you threw was once in a lifetime and filled with many moments I shall hold dear in my heart forever. Love you my mother and dear friend.
