heroes don’t wear capes…

Heroes don’t wear capes…

they wear dog tags!

Two thin tags of metal that many cannot bare the weight to wear.

Two mere dollars-worth tokens –  more valuable than gold.

Two tiny tin-punched pieces of information which contain only a scratch of data,

on lives valiantly lived.

So much more than the eye can see

is their meaning to those who pray for the ones they hang upon,

and all those they serve.

hugs n’ blessings to all the dog tags returned safely home!

(And extra-special ones to those who still stand in harms way.)
