The Lamb

Little Lamb who made thee
Dost thou know who made thee
Gave thee life & bid thee feed.
By the stream & o’er the mead;
Gave thee clothing of delight,
Softest clothing wooly bright;
Gave thee such a tender voice,
Making all the vales rejoice!
Little Lamb who made thee
Dost thou know who made thee
Little Lamb I’ll tell thee,
Little Lamb I’ll tell thee!
He is called by thy name,
For he calls himself a Lamb:
He is meek & he is mild,
He became a little child:
I a child & thou a lamb,
We are called by his name.
Little Lamb God bless thee.
Little Lamb God bless thee.

  1. Beautiful! I bought the loveliest little lamb for our new granddaughter Mahlee before we left home. Buying it from a chemist shop triggered a special gift package for her mother. It was a double blessing and your blog has reminded me again about the unexpected and beautiful things we encounter on our life’s journey. The valleys and the hills are all a part of a great adventure. LIFE. Thank you for being there and for being you. Hugs!

    1. Ahhhhh, Faye! I am touched by your kind words and your constant support. And aren’t we lucky to not only have one another; but also our faithful Shepherd at our side, as we travel through those hills and valleys of life!!! Indeed, a WONDERFUL adventure…..

  2. What a beautiful image of the lamb. So gentle and so pure did Jesus become that He took on those qualities and then Jesus as the Good Shepherd who will lay down His life for his sheep. Did you know that sheep are not very intelligent in the hierarchy? Sheep are symbols of the simple goodness, such goodness is gentle and patient, but need to be protected from attack by wolves and other prey, sheep cannot defend themselves. Hence, ” The Good Shepherd image of JC. This can be seen in the way a shepherd is able to bring a flock of sheep together to protect and guide it and rescue with his life, those ones that have gone astray. This is the promise to us in Psalm 23. God bless
