Do you like surprises?

I know some people who especially love the buildup and anticipation surrounding surprise gifts.

God has a gift for us today, but we must be willing to let him surprise us.

This is the gift of humility.

Humility is when we come to God confessing we don’t know the answer; we don’t have it all figured out.

Where there is pride, there is no room for surprise.

We feel the pressure to have all the answers, but God is asking us to let go of that.

When we unwrap humility, we are positioned to receive this wisdom, knowledge, and understanding that Proverbs is talking about.

Gifts upon gifts!

God cannot be manipulated, bossed around, or controlled.

Humility is us pouring ourselves small before him.

Maybe the things you continue to struggle with and try to figure out alone, you now submit to him. Or believe God when the odds are stacked against the promise.

Or open your hands in areas you typically want to grasp tightly!

The wonder, delight, and surprise at the glory of God that might be missing can be found when you unwrap your gift of humility.

God, you are mighty, and I am not!

You know everything, I do not.

I give you complete control today.

Humbly, I open my hands before you and release my control.
