motive

The Lord ❤️ WILL ❤️ manifest the motives of our ❤️ hearts! ❤️

To know, to Love, to Serve.

A reading from the first Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians

Brothers and sisters: Thus should one regard us: as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Now it is of course required of stewards that they be found trustworthy. It does not concern me in the least that I be judged by you or any human tribunal; I do not even pass judgment on myself; I am not conscious of anything against me, but I do not thereby stand acquitted; the one who judges me is the Lord. Therefore, do not make any judgment before the appointed time, until the Lord comes, for he will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will manifest the motives of our hearts, and then everyone will receive praise from God.

1 Corinthians 4:1-5 (emphasis added)

The First Friday Devotions are a set of Catholic devotions to especially recognize the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and through it offer reparations for sins. September’s First Friday’s Mass Readings, such as the one above, could not be more appropriate for the goings-on in our world. I know they spoke directly to my heart! ❤️

Do you ever feel judged, despite your attempt to live a life as a Servant of Christ’s?

Recently, our parish priest expounded upon this Reading in his homily during September’s First Friday Mass….

Fr. Larry Richards

The psalms often remind us:

The salvation of the just comes from the Lord, (ps 37: 39a.)

No matter how poorly anyone else may judge you to be (or not to be,) or deduce what you do (or do not do,) is of no value to God. And so too of your own assessment of others – and as Fr. Larry points out – even our own judgements upon ourselves.

For God does not confer with any of us on judgement day!

There is no need because, He’s got this!

He knows us better than ANYONE – without needing input from others.

Praise be!

Giggles.

Therefore – Take courage!

For God knows the motives of your heart!

❤️

hugs n’ special blessings to all those striving to be, worthy ❤️Servants❤️ of God!
