Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm.

Proverbs 13:20

Studies have shown that what our parents told us was true, “we are the company we keep.” By surrounding ourselves with a circle of friends who are heavily into partying, we become partiers.

If our closest companions are believers, our faith is strengthened.

Lucky me! I have BOTH categories rolled into a great big (FUN) one!

This doesn’t mean you need to wear a linen robe and eat grasshoppers! It doesn’t mean you need to give up TV or going to the amusement park. It simply means we need to be grounded.

When we let Social Media be our guide we can go off on a tangent. Believing what the world tells us. But in the Bible we find direction and encouragement.

The book of Proverbs is a perfect example to find this!

Proverbs is full of instruction for living a blessed and godly life!

Many people make a habit to read one chapter of Proverbs every day. There’s a chapter for every day in the month and they are packed with a wondrous road map to life, containing both advice and cautions, perfectly suited to the present.

Remember: God tells us to seek wisdom!

Specifically, find a person older in the faith who can counsel you, join a Bible study, or memorize Scripture that will help you. All of these can keep you on the road to becoming wise.
