it’s the monday giggles…
If a man does not keep pace with his companions
perhaps it is because he hears the beat
of his own drum.

Drumroll, please…
The season of Advent is upon us!
In the Catholic Church, Advent is the beginning of the Liturgical year. Advent is also a period of both repentance and celebration. For the period of four weeks, Christians spend time in spiritual preparation for the coming of Jesus Christ at Christmas. Believers remember not only Christ’s first coming to earth as a human baby, but also celebrate his continued presence with us today through the Holy Spirit.
Advent can be a perfect time to spiritually strengthen our faith-life!
“Am I now seeking the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, then I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10
Just like a musician who prepares for an important performance event, Advent prepares us (Christians) for the arrival of Christ’s birth. This period of time should be spent preparing our minds, hearts, and souls for His coming!
How do we do this? We take a good look at our lives and ask ourselves, “Have I been living my life according to God’s will? Do I love my neighbor as I love myself? When people look at me do they see God present in my life?”
The focus of the entire season is preparation to celebrate the birth of Jesus the Christ! It is the perfect time to clear the proverbial “cobwebs” and start anew. It’s the opportunity to make the necessary changes so that our life mirrors the life of Jesus whose birth we soon will exult.
How will you spend these four weeks?
I do verily plan to spend it marching to the beat of His drum,
and trusting where-ever it may lead me!
Especially while we are LIVE
(along with our daughter, son-in-law and a few other thousands of peeps)
at the
For King & Country and Casting Crowns Christmas Concert!!
And of course I will try exceptionally hard to take special notice of all the important things He will reveal to me, along the way!
(Wait for it, wait for it, I think I see him coming…)
“Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning. Then you will be like servants waiting for their master to return from the wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks, they can open the door for him at once.…” Luke 12:35-36

How true dear Dawn Marie. We each must KNOW what is our TRUTH, we must live for, what we cherish most in our lives and indeed……..march to our own beat and not be dictated to by the beat, hype, or trendy politically correct drumrolls or music of others. What we march to is very often not of this world but the strumming of the eternity chorus. Blessing and Grace.
