something in the water…

Recently my mother, sister, and I went on a girls-trip for a few days to a local cottage.

The lovely cottage we rented had everything we needed

Truly, it was only necessary to pack the essentials for our time away!

( My essentials: Yo-Yo, a Ball & Jacks, slinky, fart-gun & music.)

As you might imagine we had a lovely time together.

With lots of room/time for activities!

But of course, as usually happens when one is having fun,

the time (away) goes

much too fast.

But the GOOD news is…

memories last much longer than time permits,

and God always imprints a message in our hearts,

which binds to our souls,

that we will take with us

throughout eternity.

And each time I hear the sound of the water rolling into the shore…

these memories shall stir once again.

Through the Word all things were made.

John 1:3

Psalm 33

Ring out your joy to the Lord, O you just; for praise is fitting for loyal hearts.

Give thanks to the Lord upon the harp, with a ten-stringed lute sing him songs.  O sing him a song that is new, play loudly, with all your skill.

For the word of the Lord is faithful and all his works to be trusted.  The Lord loves justice and right and fills the earth with his love.

By his word the heavens were made, by the breath of his mouth all the stars.  He collects the waves of the ocean; he stores up the depths of the sea.

Let all the earth fear the Lord, all who live in the world revere him.  He spoke; and it came to be.  He commanded; it sprang into being.

He frustrates the designs of the nations, he defeats the plans of the peoples.  His own designs shall stand for ever, the plans of his heart from age to age.

They are happy, whose God is the Lord, the people he has chosen as his own.  From the heavens the Lord looks forth, he sees all the children of men.

From the place where he dwells he gazes on all the dwellers on the earth, he who shapes the hearts of them all and considers all their deeds.

What stirs your heart toward a sweet memory that has changed you forever?

hugs n’ blessings for all the memories stored up in our hearts which make us stronger!

  1. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. Makes my heart feel I too was there. God Bless! (I had such a passionate blog I was going to write this am. All about a blazing heart of LOVE for our Lord so necessary in these days.) However, your beautiful post has made me think that today should be a simple comment about REST,

  2. Looks like you girls had a really great time. I love the pictures…they captured all the very special moments. Rock painting? You got my sister to paint rocks?! Amazing and what a cute idea. I love the shawls you made; perfect for those chilly times. I especially love the picture of the three of you together…very beautiful. Glad it was such a success.
