shielded

I am preparing for my second year of formation. I return to School very soon. My reading has been completed, my notes have been taken, and my back-pack is full!

But nothing is more important to take with me than Him.

Because He is my shield!

After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.”

Genesis 15:1

Every time I enter our Parish adoration Chapel I am reminded He is my shield. And I often get lost in that awesome reality because the lights which shine above the Tabernacle reflect the perfect outline of the shape of a Shield and centered within that outline is Christ crucified.

No small coincidence. A God-incident most would say!

God has outpoured many graces during those hours of time spent with Him, revealed many truths & lit many fires within my heart.

And I have found the secret to staying on fire your whole life is to know that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is your exceedingly great reward.

He’s (all) your desire!

To know Him, to walk with Him, to serve Him. To be best-friends with Him.

There’s nothing greater than that.

There is nothing He can give you that’s greater than that.

Our Joy is the manifestation of what is to come in the Kingdom; so as we get deeper and we fall deeper in love with Jesus, the joy of heaven explodes in our life. Sitting before Him we can learn how to access that. We can deal with life, the healing of our hearts so that life’s hurts don’t hold us back from receiving His Joy.

How to walk free, walk in forgiveness. And deal with some of the soul-issues that stop us from receiving more of the Spirit.

Be quick to receive, Yes!

But realize HE is the greatest reward.

And He desires to give us the fullness of His Spirit.

  1. Dawn: wishing you well as you head back to school for your second year!  Can’t wait to hear about the blessings Jesus shares with you this year!I was recently asked to name a place that is special in my life and why….I immediatrely said “the adoration chapel at St. Joe’s/Bread of Life, because that’s where I met Jesus again and knew He had been waiting for me to come back and re-commit myself to Him.”  That day was 20 years ago now and not a day goes by that I don’t thank Him for welcoming me back home.Hope you and your family are doing well and you have had a restful summer enjoying your children and grandchildren!  We are just back from a cruise to New England and Canada in celebration of your 50th Wedding Anniversary next month.  Please keep Dave and I in your prayers as we reach this milestone….where has the time gone???God bless and take good care,Love,Nancy
