#4 Don’t Let Your Misfortune Upset You

Don’t ever allow yourself to become upset by your misfortunes. In face of your misery, should you find yourself in this situation by the will of God, remain humble and lowly before God and be at great peace.

Respond to all misfortune, whatever it may be, with gentleness, peace, tenderness and interior moderation before God, abandoning yourself simply into His hands so that He may make of you and in you what He pleases.

tried and true

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Proverbs 18:24

When you read this verse, what person comes to mind?

You may be thinking of someone who has been very unreliable or perhaps you are smiling at the thought of that one friend who feels even closer to you than your own family. Relationships are a blessing, and it’s worth taking the time to consider what friends are encouraging you and what friends are not.
