two crowns

To win the entire world for the Immaculata and, through her, for the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.”

St. Maximilian Kolbe

St. Maximilian Kolbe was born Raymund Kolbe in Poland on January 8th, 1894. Poland at this time was part of the Russian Empire. His father was a weaver and mother was a midwife. At age 12, Kolbe was given a vision of Our Lady. He wrote this: That night I asked the Mother of God what was to become of me. Then she came to me holding two crowns, one white, the other red. She asked me if I was willing to accept either of these crowns. The white one meant that I should persevere in purity and the red that I should become a martyr. I said that I would accept them both.

the goodness and power of God

“God wants the humble souls, who love Him and, therefore, pray to Him, to govern the world through the goodness and power of God.
He wants them to save and sanctify souls and to bring about the kingdom of divine love in them.” KW 1302

St. Maximilian Kolbe

Heavenly Father I come before you with a heart full of gratitude for the precious gift of family and I place them all in Your hands. Fill them with Your grace and mercy. Bless them with your holy presence. May they walk in obedience to your Word. Keep them safe. Surround them with your chosen people. Remove everything that is causing stress and worry and I pray for fresh anointing, healing, and deliverance on their life. I ask that You surround our home with Your divine protection, love and peace.

Thank you for blessing me with loved ones who share in life’s joys and burdens. May your presence be felt in every conversation, every moment, and every decision that we make together. Guide us in strengthening our bonds, Lord. Help us to be patient, kind and understanding, especially during times of challenge. Grant us the wisdom to nurture each other with grace and compassion. Fill our hearts with forgiveness, and let love reign in our home. We pray for your abundant blessings over our family, for health, happiness and peace. Help us to grow closer to You and to each other in everything we do. May our home be a place where Your love is reflected, and your light shines brightly in our lives.

All glory and honor is Yours! Amen.

The secret of joy is Christ in me – not me in a different set of circumstances.

perfection

“My beloved ones, you yourselves will experience in your lives, even on this earth, that all of the perfection of holiness, all the fervor of action, all the usefulness of the missionary ministry consists not in great wisdom, nor in great intelligence, not in great skills or even in the amount of prayer and penitence, but solely in the perfection of holy Obedience. (KW 380)

St. Maximilian Kolbe

In September of 2024 we traveled to Poland on Pilgrimage. One year later many experiences during our time there have remained in my heart still today.

Our time spent in Auschwitz was a particularly poignant one.

I believe I experienced many of the same feelings most do while walking through the concentration camp. Extreme sorrow, grief, outrage, disbelief. However, one feeling that unexpectedly overwhelmed me was courage.

Unimaginable courage.
