September 13 is the feast day (in the Roman Catholic Church) of Saint John Chrysostom, bishop and Doctor of the Church. An Early Church Father best known for his preaching and public speaking, Saint John was given the name Chrysostomos, meaning “golden mouthed,” after death.

ten little toes

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”  Isaih 52:7

 

Two little feet, ten little toes,

running and jumping at play.

Two little feet, too little time,

will be walking to school one day.

Kicking a rock, or skipping a rope,

wading a puddle or washed with soap.

Two little feet, one little child,

will soon go their own way.

But footprints in my mind recall,
