excuse this house

I’ve had an endearing framed poem hanging in our (various) homes since 1990. Ironically, even though I can barely remember what I had for breakfast, I can still recall finding it tucked neatly inside one of my favorite locally owned stores.

I love to shop local!

I also remember how I vacillated, at the time, over its purchase – as I fantasized about the life I would have if I could truly live out what the poem said.

In that moment of time it became the battle in my mind over the

cuddle vs the mop.

This particular store has changed ownership since the time of my print’s purchase and hence was replaced by a different name; however, they continue to provide unique locally-made items for purchase.

Lately, I feel akin to that local shop with its change of names.

In a very happy way.

worthiness

To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of His calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power.

2 Thessalonians 1:11

God, I can get so caught up in the idea that I am not worthy of You, that I am not enough to gain Your promises. But I have to realize that You didn’t die for me because of what I can offer to the kingdom. You took on my sin because You loved the world and loved me with an unashamed, full, agape love.

That kind of love cannot be measured.
