My heart was full this Independence Day as we celebrated – for the first time – at our lake cottage with “the littles” (and their bigs too.)

It is amazing to see
How big they can be
Yesterday so small
Today so tall.

Children grow up so fast
Babies they don’t last
The years fly by
It can make you sigh.

You are safer now.

Not completely.

But more today than yesterday.

I wish I could tell you this is so everywhere.

But that is not true.

However, it’s beginning.
