Our daughter is a teacher.

And she is one of the many thousands who are called to a vocation of teaching

Special individuals

who deal with Intellectual Disabilities.

But she (and others like her) remind us they are more appropriately considered:

Special ABILITIES.

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”  Isaih 52:7

 

Two little feet, ten little toes,

running and jumping at play.

Two little feet, too little time,

will be walking to school one day.

Kicking a rock, or skipping a rope,

wading a puddle or washed with soap.

Two little feet, one little child,

will soon go their own way.

But footprints in my mind recall,

she calls him babe.

I remember when I first heard it.

I remember when I first heard him call her, “Babe.”

That’s when I knew…this boy loves our darling daughter.

(And yes, he did eventually proceed to become our son-in-law.)
