humble gift

Do you like surprises?

I know some people who especially love the buildup and anticipation surrounding surprise gifts.

God has a gift for us today, but we must be willing to let him surprise us.

This is the gift of humility.

Humility is when we come to God confessing we don’t know the answer; we don’t have it all figured out.

Where there is pride, there is no room for surprise.

We feel the pressure to have all the answers, but God is asking us to let go of that.

When we unwrap humility, we are positioned to receive this wisdom, knowledge, and understanding that Proverbs is talking about.

grow wiser

Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm.

Proverbs 13:20

Studies have shown that what our parents told us was true, “we are the company we keep.” By surrounding ourselves with a circle of friends who are heavily into partying, we become partiers.

If our closest companions are believers, our faith is strengthened.
