Character costs

I don’t believe God wastes anything. He knows that even the most painful, bewildering circumstances can produce a life of beauty and grace if we allow them to be molded by his creative hands. What matters to him is not so much the circumstance itself but what He intends to do with it.

These past 2 months He pulled me away from this beloved writing space to use my time differently. Baby squishes, remodeling projects, story times with tiny friends, and quantitive discerning prayer.

No time has been wasted!

Did you notice?

Hugs n’ blessings has been quiet for a little while.

On or about the start of Advent I knew I needed to pull away and enter into the silence of my heart.

Like a seed seeking to grow I needed time to plant myself in quiet soil to discover if God was calling me to bloom anew.

weight of worry

Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.

Proverbs 12:25 NLT

Have you ever worn ankle weights at the gym? Suddenly even a task like walking takes extra effort. When considering your worries, picture yourself as a person with ankle weights who has never worked out. Worry does nothing but add heaviness to your life. When you take into consideration that we are called to run a race, it is significantly more difficult to run with our ankles carrying weights. The solution seems to be right in this verse, but sometimes we find ourselves in seasons where an encouraging word from the outside seems scarce.
