“Love and only love is the key to all life’s sorrows,
opening doors once closed, promising brighter tomorrows.”
Kathy J Parenteau

“When we contemplate the blessings of faith even now, as if gazing at a reflection in a mirror, it is, as if we already possessed the wonderful things which our faith assures us we shall one day enjoy.” (CCC163)
“The word of the Lord came to me, saying: Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you.”
Jeremiah 1:4-5
The Gift of Love
“Brothers & sisters: Strive eagerly for the greatest spiritual gifts. But I shall show you a still more excellent way.
If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 12:31- 13:13
“In you, O Lord, I take refuge; let me never be put to shame. In your justice rescue me, and deliver me: incline your ear to me, and save me. Be my rock of refuge, a stronghold to give me safety, for you are my rock and my fortress.” Psalm 71: 1-2, 3
“For you are my hope, O Lord; my trust, O God, from my youth. On you I depend from birth; from my mothre’s womb you are my strength.” Psalm 71: 5-6
“My mouth shall declare your justice, day by day your salvation. O God, you have taught me from my youth, and till the present I proclaim your wondrous deeeds.” Psalm 71: 15, 17
What were the blessings you received today?
3hugs n’ blessings to all the popsicle eaters, no matter which flavor you enjoyed!
Recently my mother, sister, and I went on a girls-trip for a few days to a local cottage.
The lovely cottage we rented had everything we needed…
Truly, it was only necessary to pack the essentials for our time away!
( My essentials: Yo-Yo, a Ball & Jacks, slinky, fart-gun & music.)
As you might imagine we had a lovely time together.
With lots of room/time for activities!
But of course, as usually happens when one is having fun,
the time (away) goes
much too fast.
But the GOOD news is…
memories last much longer than time permits,
and God always imprints a message in our hearts,
which binds to our souls,
that we will take with us
throughout eternity.
And each time I hear the sound of the water rolling into the shore…
these memories shall stir once again.
Through the Word all things were made.
John 1:3
Psalm 33
Ring out your joy to the Lord, O you just; for praise is fitting for loyal hearts.
Give thanks to the Lord upon the harp, with a ten-stringed lute sing him songs. O sing him a song that is new, play loudly, with all your skill.
For the word of the Lord is faithful and all his works to be trusted. The Lord loves justice and right and fills the earth with his love.
By his word the heavens were made, by the breath of his mouth all the stars. He collects the waves of the ocean; he stores up the depths of the sea.
Let all the earth fear the Lord, all who live in the world revere him. He spoke; and it came to be. He commanded; it sprang into being.
He frustrates the designs of the nations, he defeats the plans of the peoples. His own designs shall stand for ever, the plans of his heart from age to age.
They are happy, whose God is the Lord, the people he has chosen as his own. From the heavens the Lord looks forth, he sees all the children of men.
From the place where he dwells he gazes on all the dwellers on the earth, he who shapes the hearts of them all and considers all their deeds.
What stirs your heart toward a sweet memory that has changed you forever?
hugs n’ blessings for all the memories stored up in our hearts which make us stronger!
