Character costs

I don’t believe God wastes anything. He knows that even the most painful, bewildering circumstances can produce a life of beauty and grace if we allow them to be molded by his creative hands. What matters to him is not so much the circumstance itself but what He intends to do with it.

These past 2 months He pulled me away from this beloved writing space to use my time differently. Baby squishes, remodeling projects, story times with tiny friends, and quantitive discerning prayer.

No time has been wasted!

I was sad not to be “here,” checking in with all of you. But He placed me in spaces and circumstances where I was needed. And as a result I have grown (some more.) Plus, I have discovered what matters most & examined areas in my heart that were being occupied by wasteful nonsensical busy-ness. Most importantly I was graciously given the prayerful space to properly discern which School I am to enter for…(drum-roll) Spiritual Director formation.

Yup! The cat’s out of the bag!

As I previously shared with you – I am going back to school! But what I didn’t share was – to be certified as a Spiritual Director. I applied for acceptance to two wonderful & notable programs; both of which I fell in love with, never imagining I would be accepted into both! Truly, I needed devoted prayer-filled time to properly discern WHICH one the Lord was calling me to enter. I am grateful He answered and I look forward to beginning the 3 year process beginning this coming October.

What kind of life are you living right now? Are you married or single? Are you old or young? Are you living in a big house or one that’s quaint & small? Perhaps you are celebrating a milestone moment. Perhaps your joy is over-flowing. Perhaps you’ve reached rock bottom. You may be sitting in prison or struggling with a serious illness.

Wherever you are, whatever your circumstances, remember that you belong to a God who lets nothing go to waste!

Trust Him to make something beautiful of your life, no matter how painful and confusing your circumstances may be. And when you are afraid or discouraged, may the Father above remind you of His steadfast love and your creative power as you rest in His capable hands.

hugs n’ blessings to all those who realize that God is writing a good story for their life.

  1. Your Grandchildren as sooo precious, and I can picture you cuddling them, sharing stories, playing, working in the kitchen and most of all sharing your love with each of them! They are such beautiful blessings from God!
And congratulations as you enter this new opportunity – you will be a wonderful Spiritual Director and I know that going back to school will be another new blessing in your life. Challenging, yes, at times, uplifting, most of the time, a chance to enhance your knowledge and open your life to new possibilities, all in His Holy Name. Can’t wait to hear more specifics about your school and the program you’ve selected!

    1. Thank you dear friend! Your continual support of who God created me to be is overwhelmingly appreciated. If you only knew what your “kindness to care” means. And I know that it is because you know & understand my heart. Thank you for that. God has surprised me with this call to serve Him and I am looking forward to how He shall form me these next 3 years. I am so grateful to share my life’s journey with you. Thank you for celebrating it (all) with me, as well as holding me in prayer during moments of trial. Rest assured I shall always do the same for you, forever friend.

I’m so proud of you for listening and heeding the Spirit’s call. Your listening skills are impeccable! 😘 when I took time off, to heal and grow, it gave me a sense of the Spirit’s direction. My health journey, the move,…everything, sister. God never changed through it all! But he changed me~my faith grew even more and stronger as I continue to fall flat on it! I just want to squish you and those precious grandchildren. I love you, Dawn! You bless us as you continue to give God the glory and doing what matters most! 1. Karla I am always tickled that I am able, through this site, to package up my joy to share with earthly angels like you!! Indeed, the joy is palpable – truthfully so greatly appreciated, most especially these past few years. And I believe that is why the peace springs forth so abundantly! By the grace of God the discernment to follow His call to me has been truly life-giving. The Spirit is truly present and I am overwhelmed to be loved, by Him. I am so glad the Lord gave YOU time away with Him. Your healing, your entire life-journey and the way you have shared it with your blogging-family has inspired me in beautiful ways. One of the most impactful is to love authentically & deeply. I love YOU, Karla! You bring out the best in all of us and I continue to pray the very BEST for you. May you feel my hugs, but more importantly the healing HUGS of the Lord enveloped around you. 😘
