shout!

The walls of Jericho came down with song!

Song from the Spirit!

They encamped around those walls for seven days and with a SHOUT, a triumphant SHOUT those walls came down!!

We are (Day 3) post election and I’m here, in my little space in the universe,

Worshipping!

Worshipping because I have heard it said, “Worship precedes a miracle!”

And that’s what I want for our Country.

a new song

But I will sing of thy might; I will sing aloud of thy steadfast love in the morning. For thou hast been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.

Psalm 59:16

There are stories woven throughout Scripture of God’s great love for his people. We see him parting seas, crushing boulders, and quietening storms. He feeds the hungry and heals the sick. He cries with those who mourn, comforts the lonely, and stands with the forgotten. His character is consistent of a loving and faithful God who meets his people in their time of need.

Why then, do we so easily forget that the God we serve is the same God that has always been?

When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of King Herod, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,  saying, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star at its rising and have come to do him homage. When King Herod heard this, he was greatly troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.  Assembling all the chief priests and the scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born. They said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it has been written through the prophet:

‘And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; since from you shall come a ruler,
    who is to shepherd my people Israel.’”
