First there were two.

But now we’re Cubed!

The definition of a J-Cubed Bruther:

“Squared” and “cubed” came to common usage because of their familiarity in geometry. A shape that is two units long by two units wide is a square, and so it makes sense to call the mathematical operation of multiplying a numeral against itself “squaring.” The same goes for a cube: something of equal length in three dimensions is a cube. The shorthand is somewhat intuitive, since the operations of squaring and cubing are often used to find the volume of the corresponding shapes.

a private moment

With

the magic of the wedding

behind us

and all the glitter swept up,

God provided us the blessing of 3 quiet days to sit and reflect

on the joy and wonder of it all.

Everyone tells you how fast the time goes by

and they’re oh, so very right!

But no one mentioned the hidden moments,

the private ones…

and just how much they catch your heart

causing it to skip a beat,

for a moment,

and freezes it there forever

fossilized in the heart.

It didn’t matter that we stood in a sea of hundreds

or whether all alone

they came (these special moments)

and illuminated so much joy,

so much gratitude,

so much wonder & awe,

their only escape was through

tears & laughter.

My mind has lapped over them now,

their impressions already smooth like beach glass

tumbled through the repeating waves

of the ocean.

And today i allow one

to spill out,

to share with you,

in my own way…

this private moment.

My darling daughter presented me this video to watch

the night before her wedding.

A precious letter

read by her

while a cascade of lifetime moments spent together displayed.

Forever on film,

for always in my heart,

causing so many skipped beats.

Not many days remain now…

until you change your name.

And tho’ one might think sadness dwells,

it is pure joy which remains.

To see your peace

and constant glow,

there is no more to ask.

Than to know you’re loved

and cherished so,

by the one whom you will be attached.

One thing I ask to be remembered

one wish I humbly tell.

Watch over this name you’ll soon be given,

remember to treat it well.

Provide it only with honor

and tender loving care.

For God has gifted it to you…

and guided you safely there.

His name

will now be your name

and with God together you will be.

And I am so very grateful,

that He gave you but for awhile to me.

barn boots, lip-sync, and feather-bed fluffs,

early morning birthday cakes,
