You will lose people in your life
and realize
no matter how much time
you spent with them,
it will never seem
like it was
I look at you and I do not see
the passage of time.
I see my little girl
eating birthday cake for breakfast
and
playing basketball at night,
reading a book,
playing in the neighborhood Olympics,
